Notes from the Dressing Room- Lands End Canvas

Spring is just around the corner (I can see you peeking around the corner, Spring, even though it is still chilly! Come out soon so we can play!!).

The latest Lands' End Canvas catalog that came in my mailbox about a week ago, got me very excited about warm weather outfits, so I took a little drive to check out some of their offerings in person.

Cap Sleeve Cable Sweater in True Navy, $49.50, available here
Pleated Pattern Skirt in Persimmon Stripe, $59.50, available here

Although this sweater felt slightly thick and well-made, it just wasn't cutting it for me and the fit was the main issue. The design made it very boxy and I don't care for sleeves that sit out like these do. I know this design may work for some and it looks much cuter with a tee underneath like shown on the website. Overall, this is a great quality sweater and I would give it a complete thumbs up with some design tweaks. As a note, I sized down in this and it was still slightly roomy.

This skirt, on the other hand, got a definite thumbs up. It sat on my body with no poofing issues in the hip or behind areas, it has pockets and the length wasn't super short or too long. It is available in several other patterns and colorways too, so I would certainly recommend this for a fun spring/summer skirt.

Nautical Sweater Jacket in Bisque/True Navy Stripe, $79.50, available here
Gathered Full Skirt in White, $49.50, available here

You guys should snatch this up soon, it appears to be going in many sizes on the website!! This is another good quality knit sweater jacket. It was well fitting, has cute button detailing and such a sailor vibe. If it was just a smidge longer, I might have thought about getting it. It isn't cropped, but could be a touch longer. You might need to size down in this also.

I know who to go for skirts now because like the striped one, I loved this too. It has pockets, the right amount of fullness and fits quite nicely. My only issue is that it doesn't come in other colors besides black. :(

Boatneck Sailor Dress, $59.50, available here
Lightweight Twill Overcoat in Light Khaki , $130, available here

Umm, I can't believe I'm even showing  this side view.

Flasher on the loose!!

I must be having a stripes moment. This is a great casual weekend, just throw it on kind of dress. It is fitted, but not in a tight way. It could definitely use a belt for some waist definition, or a chunky necklace and maybe some cute espadrilles. I have a whole outfit planned for this dress although I'm still on the fence.

Nothing is more classic than a trench coat and you can't go wrong with this one. It's a great quality piece (like everything else they make) and look at that striped lining! I believe this one ran true to size.

I would highly recommend buying from Land's End Canvas. I've ordered twice before and after my first purchase last year, they sent me a thank you card. How cute is that!? Items are pretty reasonable priced and you will sure get your money's worth in style and quality. Please check reviews and measurements before buying because their sizing runs a bit larger. I sized down in many of these items.
Also, consider signing up for the catalogs as they usually offer free shipping most of the time (if not all the time).

Have you tried Lands' End Canvas yet?

  1. Thank you so much for reviewing LE Canvas! I have been a LE fan for many years, and it was only recently that I know about the canvas range!!

I am grateful that you reviewed the two skirts too, because they are just what I am sitting on the fence for!

Did you have to size down for these two skirts?

The flasher on the loose photo is real funny!!!

Hope to see more LE reviews on your blog. Btw, 1st time here and enjoy your write up:)

  2. Thanks for all the pics! The skirts and dress look amazing on you! :)

I have purchased from LE Canvas numerous times since their debut at the beginning of last year (I've blogged about them numerous times, too). I agree that the quality is excellent...oh, and their customer service is also top notch.

    Have a great day!

  5. I bought the skirt, too, but in the yellow print version. LE Canvas earns high marks in my book.

  6. I see we have some LE Canvas fans out there.

@Miranda- I definitely think these would be perfect for a DC spring. I can see you wearing most of these to the office!

@Miin- I believe I sized down for almost all of these items, but definitely the skirts. They have their own sizing system and my regular size in other retailers was a size smaller in LE Canvas.
