OOTD- The Staples

I have heard countless declarations that the chambray top is a must have in any lady's wardrobe and I completely concur. I've never encountered any item that could go from work to play so seamlessly. Now, I can't necessarily say the same thing about a pair of polka dot pants, but for my closet they are a close second to this top. This little ensemble was perfectly ready to handle a day at the movies and if I was still a young whipper snapper and headed out for a night of mayhem and debauchery, a few simple changes in accessories (and a few buttons undone) could have made it work just as easily for a night out. If I could only figure out how to make my pink velvet shoes work with any and every outfit, then my closet would be closer to perfection, but something tells me that one item will be a bit tougher to figure out.

What is one item that you are constantly reaching for out of your closet?

OOTD-What Can Brown Do For You?

When I was a teenager, black was probably my favorite color to wear. I wasn't a goth kid or anything, but my mother couldn't stand that this was my preferred color palette; however what could you expect from a yellow and orange lover? But just as the seasons change, you can be sure taste changes which is how I've embraced so much color into my wardrobe and even wear things like brown.

To keep from looking like a big block of blah, I added just a bit of interest with this statement of a necklace and one of my fancy purses. When I was 29, I was determined to have a Chanel purse by my 30th bday, but that wasn't really going to happen when I wasn't saving up for it. What was I thinking? But lo and behold, I took a trip to my favorite consignment shop one weekend and what did I spy on the shelves. A Chanel!!!! Granted it was sadly thrown around by its previous owner and needed a good cleaning, but at the price it was, I couldn't let it go. We only go out on the rare occasion, but she sure is a lot of fun!

Is there any item on your fashion bucket list???

OOTD-Who Wears Short Shorts in the Brisk Cold? I Do!!!

I'm determined to rock the shorts with tights look and that's exactly what I did this past Sunday. The bf and I headed out for a drive and I tricked him a little into shopping by making sure our destination included the outlets. I even tricked him into spending more than I did; my magical skills are growing stronger (mwah, ha, ha). One little shopping bag was it for me and I even stopped at Target to make sure the little kiddies would have some goodies to rot their teeth, but no one knocked at the door!!! What am I going to do with a $7 bag worth of chocolate? With the Thanksgiving yummy around the corner my waistline is not going to be a happy camper.

Did you have a fun Halloween? My friend and her husband hosted a party at their new place on Saturday. I dressed up as some kind of black hippie because that's all my mother could offer. I was hoping she could dust off some bunny or cat ears from 1982 or something, but her recent 70's themed party was the best she could do. I won't complain as I would have been a serious party pooper showing up as me on a regular Saturday night. To see what my boyfriend dressed as, see below.

Love, peace and soul dudes!

Have you guys met Windy Man?? If not, you are seriously missing out on the awesome, hilariousness that is Cougar Town!!! Wednesday @ 9:30 on ABC!!!!
