OOTD- Tucker, But Not For Target

Although today we were on the verge of a tornado, yesterday's weather was absolutely perfect. It made me want to put on my fancy new dress. I don't know why but when I buy something new, I like to hold onto it until I come up with the perfect outfit for it instead of wearing it right away. Which camp are you in?

Target is one of my favorite stores and I love the designer collaborations that allow me to afford some level of designer goods in my closet. I've been introduced to some wonderful lines (Alice Temperley, Rogan, Thakoon) and Tucker definitely scored high on the list, but you know the real deal is always just a little bit, let's say, better/more expensive looking/just a bigger step up? A recent Gilt sale allowed me to add this pretty little beauty of a Tucker dress for an absolute steal to join its fellow spring frocks in my closet. It got me so excited that I almost wanted to break the shorts out of hiding, go find a patio outside and enjoy an icy cold frozen drink. But all in due time.

OOTD-These Boots Are Made for Stompin'

There is nothing better to me than a beautiful, sun-shiny day, but even when it's raining I can't be too upset. I have no problem embracing the rain with a hat to keep my hair from turning into a big frizz-fest and some fancy, fun footwear. Splashing in puddles is kind of cathartic and makes me miss that little elementary school girl who used to race the boys at recess and play on the jungle gym.

I thought the weekend would never come, but Friday is finally here. I'll be enjoying my friend Mr. Sunshine. Any exciting plans for you?

OOTD-Greys On A Sunny Day

Can a leather skirt be work approriate? Sometimes I ponder the question of appropriateness when I want to wear something that's in my closet normally relegated to the weekend-only pile. I'm certain my one pair of sweats will remain there and that one ruffled skirt that might have been a smidge too short, but I have to rebel every now and then and wear what I feel like wearing. I'm so bad, lol. My toe is right on the line, but I'll be keeping it on the right side.

Leather skirts in flirty shapes were the thing this season and I have to say I fell in love. The ultimate for me was a Diane von Furstenberg number seen here, but the price tag was way more than my budget would ever allowed. You tease, Diane!! After a mad hunt for a suitable substitute, I found none, but eventually saw this little gray number at H&M. A nice shape and price tag made it a winner although the non-leather aspect wasn't as great. No worries for me though, since I still think it's cute and makes me feel like a softer, more feminine version of a some kind biker chick ready to break the workplace dress code. Or so I like to pretend.

Do you think a leather skirt could work in a business-casual office?
