My skirt lengths sure have run the gamut this week. For a slinky mini, to this slight midi length number, to a little something you'll have to wait until tomorrow for. Oh, the suspense!
When I spotted this skirt at the thrift store, I couldn't believe my luck. It was perfectly on trend in both shape and color. Plus, it got extra bonus points for two little pockets. I thought the muted tones of gray and taupe in the blazer lent themselves perfectly with such a vibrant shade. And I would like to admit that I have a fashion phobia of pairing gray with brown tones, yet I did it here in this outfit. I'm not sure what to think about this bold step for me.
Are there any color pairings that you stay away from with your clothing or is it a fashion free for all when it comes to mixing and matching?
Outfit Details:

That's thrift? Shut up. ;) It's a beautiful color. Very 'you.'
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw your post come up on my reader, I thought, "what a cool jacket." And upon closer inspection, it IS a cool jacket - because I ALMOST bought that jacket online except that it clickety-click sold out just like that! No wonder, you are looking fab in it - especially the way you styled it up.
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! Love the skirt & jacket. And those bracelets are HOT!

my fashionphobia ia pairing black with orange, even though i love both black and orange.
ReplyDeletei have to be bold and try a midi skirt.i am petite and am scared it might overwhelm me.
@Gigi- I can't lie, whenever I see purple, I head straight for it.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is thrifted! I don't thrift shop that often, but have found a few gems in those racks on occasion. This skirt is definitely top 5 scores.
@Lisa- I've been wanting to up my blazer collection and thought this would be perfect for summer and as something different. Too bad you missed out, it's a really great F21 find. I've had many times when I took too long to decide on a purchase and have it disappear from the website. I still kick myself for one in particular.
@azu- Thank you so much for the sweet words!!! That is actually just one bracelet. It's a bendable snake bracelet/necklace. I love its versatility.
@ina-Black and orange is definitely a tough color palette. You have to pick the right shades and style it just right to avoid the Halloween vibe.
If you do decide to rock a midi, get something that doesn't hit the largest part of your leg, has a slimmer line and definitely put on some heels.
Love the color of the skirt!
ReplyDeleteLove that jacket -- was surprised to read it's from Forever 21! I am very uncertain about color combinations and stick to monochrome a lot to be safe, but I know what I like on other people. Your outfit looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteI just want to scream out YES on the length, shape and color of that skirt. Jackpot!!
ReplyDeleteI am currently stocking up on all kinds of jackets. I really love your tribal one! I am usually pretty willing to try new color combos. Never say never, right?

Very pretty skirt, but I'm eying that tribal blazer. Was this a recent purchase? Too bad it is sold out. I'm loving the print and gray tone of it.
ReplyDeleteVan // The Clothes We Wear
Wearing motherhood with style.
@Van-I want to say I purchased the blazer about two months ago. There's always a chance of it popping back in stock.
