OOTD- Just A Little Late

This is frost on the ground people!! I shouldn't complain since the snow has been pretty absent this winter.

Yeah, so the whole Missoni for Target collab was how long ago? And I am finally getting around to wearing the one clothing item I managed to snatch off the bare rack. It seems like my purchase to wear ratio is about three months, really gotta work on that.

I love the colors and that classic zig-zag pattern is the perfect, simple way to add just enough pattern without being to crazy or overwhelming. Plus, you can't beat an outfit that is so much easier to match-up. Instead of doing the exact same colors as in the skirt, I went for a different shade with the navy (rather than sky) blue and what outfit wouldn't be complete without a bit o' leopard. It's almost like garanimals for the adult set, I can get with that!

OOTD- Summer Layered

I have it in my head that I need an orange dress for winter. Especially after seeing this cute and simple DvF number and let me not talk about the awesome back detail on this Tibi dress. I saw someone wearing it last week and it made me love it even more. Alas, the only orange dress I have is a t-shirt dress that I picked up at H&M over the summer, but I found a way to make it work for the chilly weather by adding some layers. Since it isn't ridiculously cold yet, I styled it with a tee instead of a sweater and put on some cable-knit tights. Can I tell you how excited I am to go crazy and layer whatever I can in my closet? If I start looking like a third Olsen twin (except not really), it might be time for concern. In the meantime, I will be layered up and cozy.

Speaking of the Olsen twins, are you guys signed up for StyleMint yet? If not, you should. Do it here!! I have way too many t-shirts in my closet, so when StyleMint came around I figured I probably wouldn't be buying anything, but this is number three. I love the patterns, colors and design elements of their selection which is why I have added only more tops to the current toppling tower.

Do you have any toppling towers going on in your closet? What can't you stop buying all the time?

OOTD- A Touch of Leopard Never Hurts

I felt like it was time for my green blazer to make another appearance. I seriously heart this blazer and want to wear it often. Don't you just love those kind of clothing finds?

I remember spying this particular dress in a magazine thinking how utterly feminine and cute it was and when I found it in the store, I instantly headed for the register to make it my own. Unfortunately, I've only worn it once before and it sits all lonely in my closet. And then my magical green blazer saved the day by adding some depth that I think keeps this dress from going to the Sunday church outfit territory. And then a little bit of leopard never hurts either.

OOTD- Pretty Pirouettes

Graceful this is not!!

On my last solo trip to NYC, I walked past the Lincoln Center and saw a huge billboard for the NYC Ballet. I instantly put it on my list of performances to see, but soon forgot about it when I got home. Thanks to them putting the show on the road, I got the opportunity to semi-drag the bf to see some wonderfully talented dancers on stage at the Kennedy Center. I took ballet in the 2nd grade and unfortunately I don't remember anything beyond the first 4 positions. I'm always amazed at the twirls and graceful leg work (especially en pointe) that ballet dancers display.

Although it might seem as if my outfit is a little early for Easter, I thought this floral dress and bright yellow cardi would be soft and feminine. Pretty much adjectives I think of when it comes to dance. My outfit definitely fit the bill, but as you can tell from the last pic, I should probably work on being a bit more graceful with the arms. It might get me one step closer to the lead in Swan Lake (minus the Black Swan crazy though).

OOTD-Reds

Got some skeeball action going!!

Did you all have a lovely weekend or extra long weekend, if you were so lucky? A portion of my Saturday included some time at Chuck E. Cheese. It was crazy loud and I felt germy afterwards, but it was so cute to see kids being kids. I was especially amused by the little boy who was crying on the extremely slow moving merry-go-round. Maybe the horses were scary to him and he just wasn't having it.

I've been on the hunt for a pair of skinny red pants for quite some time now thanks to Isabel Marant and a few bloggers.

I searched high and low for a budget-friendly pair, missed out on one from Forever 21 due to a slow buy it now trigger finger, but lo and behold I spotted some high on the rack during a recent Saturday morning shopping trip. This outfit was born from a recent Instyle magazine article about wearing a certain outfit element for the rest of winter and for spring. Lucky me, the first outfit had a pair of red pants. You can be sure I'll be stealing the spring outfit idea too. I'm pretty certain they won't mind.

OOTD-A Little Grocery Chic

Did you have a lovely weekend? The highlight of mine was going to the grocery store!!! That might not sound like pure excitement to you, but after having major refrigerator issues over the past month or so, there has been a serious lack of food in the kitchen. I celebrated this momentous occasion by getting all fancied up. Not ball gown fancy, but I put on a few new things like my necklace, clutch, my crazy new platforms and showed off a little with my striped socks.
One thing I realized that is super important when you are venturing outside of your normal zone fashion-wise, confidence is always key!!! Always walk proud, even if your crazy socks are falling down in the grocery store. :)
