OOTD- Just A Little Late

This is frost on the ground people!! I shouldn't complain since the snow has been pretty absent this winter.

Yeah, so the whole Missoni for Target collab was how long ago? And I am finally getting around to wearing the one clothing item I managed to snatch off the bare rack. It seems like my purchase to wear ratio is about three months, really gotta work on that.

I love the colors and that classic zig-zag pattern is the perfect, simple way to add just enough pattern without being to crazy or overwhelming. Plus, you can't beat an outfit that is so much easier to match-up. Instead of doing the exact same colors as in the skirt, I went for a different shade with the navy (rather than sky) blue and what outfit wouldn't be complete without a bit o' leopard. It's almost like garanimals for the adult set, I can get with that!

A Hodge Podge

First off, I want to thank all of you wonderful guys for the well wishes for a speedy eye recovery. It made my heart happy. Although things are bit fuzzy (especially print and especially on the computer screen), my vision is improving (slooooowly) every day and it is such a weird and wonderful thing not needing to put in my contacts.

I'm not quite ready for an outfit post since I have not been wearing any make-up and don't need to subject you guys to that look, so instead here are a few random pics over the past few weeks:

OOTD- Trying to be Sky High

Thanks to one Ms. Jessica Simpson, I am now in the possession of what I think of as borderline drag queen shoes. I bought them because they were the color that I'm craving for fall (wine/burgundy) and that heel and platform would give me grand illusions of being a lot taller than I am and any shoe that makes me feel amazon-ish is a big winner in my book.

I was inspired to pair purple and red together after seeing Rosa from Love at First Shop wear an outfit recently with that exact color mix that looked so beautiful and effortless. Her post also made me realize that my closet was void of really pretty blouses. So my fashion mission is to get my Mad Men on in the top department. Let's hope I can find them at 1960's prices too!

Is there anything that you are constantly on the hunt for but can never seem to find? White tees? Good black pumps? A Fair Isle sweater?

OOTD- The Winds Have Changed

Fall has arrived!! I have the long sleeves to prove it! I relished in the fact that I could do some slight layering, wear jeans without the summertime stickiness that makes it so uncomfortable and that I didn't even need a jacket yet. All that would complete the picture is a cup of Pumpkin Spice Latte.

You know, I'm not big on earthy tones; give me bright colors any day! However, I spotted this top and knew it would be perfect for the new season. Such a rich, saturated shade of green lends itself well with almost any color pairing I could think of: yellow like in the scarf I'm wearing, a pair of gray pants or skirt, my bright orange sweater that's been in hiding, or red, if I dare, at Christmas time. This definitely has the makings of lots of future use. I hope the other tops in my closet don't get too jealous.

Are you into earth tones, brights or both? What is one item in your wardrobe that gets tons of wear time?

OOTD-In Before the Deadline

Although I don't firmly stick to those antiquated fashion rules, including don't wear white after Labor Day; I thought I should still wear those summer-y items in my closet before Monday (and the end of summer)rolls around. Apparently, my friend had the same thought because when I meet her after work she was wearing a white blazer too. :)
I know I'll be craving darker colors and wool and cashmere, so this little number will get less attention come fall. Speaking of rules, I think tackling navy and black together might actually happen this year. I feel like living on the edge just a little!!

Are there any fashion "rules" that you still have a hard time letting go?

OOTD- It's a Leopard Time Repeat!!

Happy Monday!! That's right, I'm not going to have a case of the Mondays and greet this week joyfully. Let's hope that cheer lasts into the week. I hope you all had a great weekend!! I sure did and part of the reason was this leopard number. I wore it two days in a row! The crazy thing is it sat in my closet for at least a month and I came up with outfits for it, but just didn't wear it until recently. I did it for you guys because otherwise you would see it every other day.

What's the one thing in your closet you would wear all the time if you could?

OOTD- Skirtin' the Spots

Yay for Friday!! I didn't think this day would ever get here! Keeping this post short because for once I'm up and ready to leave for work early, so much work waiting on my desk.

I've been wanting to wear this cute leopard shirt for awhile and thought the pencil skirt and belt would make it look perfectly lady-like. A little bit of edge was created with the studded sandals and the jacket that would normally be crazy to wear in the summer, but apparently when I step into the office, I'm transported to the Arctics. Cute, functional, simple and comfy. If those aren't the makings for a great outfit, than I don't know what is!

OOTD- The Pink Pantser

I'm not afraid of a little color, but colored pants have remained scarce in my closet. However, my adventures in loving a pair of red denim jeans have had me reconsidering. With racks in the stores resembling a bag of Skittles, I can't help but think of trying something new. And so that lead me to these pink capris.  Although I am more of a hot pink lover rather than baby pink, this soft color seemed perfect for mixing and matching in my wardrobe. I envision it with blues, grays, a little leopard; it definitely makes me think I need some cobalt blue pants for fall. Dare I think of printed pants next or am I getting ahead of myself?

OOTD- Some Serious Leopard Lovin'

As you can see, I'm well on my way to a closet overrun by leopard prints and this is just a start. I'll soon rival my aunt's house of leopard print everything; plates, pillows, towels, you name it. This cutie of a blouse is from EmersonMade. If you guys aren't familiar, check it out now. This line of clothing is the perfect marriage of classic styles with a touch of whimsy. I would gladly buy every single piece that is made, if it wouldn't leave my bank balance so in the red. It doesn't help that Emerson looks so darn cute modelling all of the clothes and looking like she's having the time of her life.

Red pants never struck me as being very versatile, but they have proven to be surprisingly so. It even has me contemplating buying another color, like hot pink.

Would you or have you dared to buy some colored denim or are you sticking to the classic washes?

OOTD- Prowling on a Weekend

The weather was so beautiful this weekend and hot enough to break out the shorts, so I happily obliged. This simple outfit was perfect to showcase my newest leopard purchase, a clutch from one of my favorite bloggers, Taylor from Curly in the City. I seem to have some sort of addiction now to leopard (a little leopard shirt is on its way to me now) and clutches (this is my second purchase from Taylor and let's not talk about the clutches I already owned). I think I need an intervention!!! Who has the number to a good shopping therapist? I also need to discuss how many is too many pairs of black shoes and is it crazy to stalk a website several times a day.

When the weather really warms up, what is the first thing you can't wait to put on?

OOTD- Squeezing Out the Knit

With the temperatures slooowly creeping back up, I figured this would be the best time for me to squeeze some extra wear time with one of my sweaters. I managed to make through the day unscathed, but on the way home I started a slight lady sweat (not to be mistaken to the bucket sweat where is just pours down your back, yuck! Not looking forward to that).

Although I am usually one for bright colors, I can help but love all of these softer tones that are out this season. So soft and feminine, I even grabbed a few to try on in the mall yesterday (reviews to come soon, stay tuned).

On a different note, does anyone else find themselves watching HSN or QVC for no reason? I've never been one for watching these shopping networks except recently. I blame none of my shows being on as the reason. Let's hope I don't find myself placing an order for some Levi's Curve jeans and Lancome make-up in the next hour.

Trench coat- Jean Paul Gaultier for Target
Lilac cashmere sweater and black elastic belt- J Crew
Leopard scarf- ASOS

Outfit of the Day- P is for Purple

Last year I was obsessed with getting a pair of skinny cords. It was all J. Crew's fault as I can remember looking through the catalog and seeing a beautiful pair of deep purple cords. However, I missed the boat on them (pretty sure I was being cheap at the time) and cried about the lovely pants that never were. So imagine my delight in spotting a similar pair of rich aubergine skinny cords at Forever 21. Score for way less!!
Today was the perfect day to take them out of hiding, mid-70 degree weather with the sun shining and a slight breeze. No need to bundle up, but still able to wear a scarf or corduroys or suede or boots. I'm in heaven when fall hits!
Is the weather treating you nice in your neck of the woods? What fall item have you been dying to wear?

A little lunchtime shopping with a co-worker. Shh, don't tell the boss!!

Recently Acquired- You Look Familiar

This is a picture of some lovely new additions to my wardrobe. I think I went for a theme here, can you guess what I'm crazy about at the moment?

J. Crew Juliet pumps via JCA Weekly Exchange, J. Crew outlet patent leopard belt, ASOS leopard scarf

Tons of new magazines have been touting that animal print is big for this season, but I'm in the camp that it never really goes out of style. Even if you take a simple black dress, a bit of leopard can add a nice splash of oomph.

Are you a fan of animal prints or is it too much for you?

Way out of my budget, but great for if I win the lottery dreams.

J. Crew Leopard Patent Belt, $39.50

Pretty much the same belt I was able to score.

Although I'm on the hunt for a nice oxford, this one wouldn't allow for as much versatility as I'm looking for, but it would be great with a sweater, some cropped jeans or cargo pants, a trench and maybe a cute hat. That might make a nice outfit, perhaps I should reconsider. :)

This is the scarf that I bought and pictured. I can't wait to throw it on over my jackets and dresses this fall.

Great for any solid coat or jacket and keeps the fingers free for texting!
