OOTD- Smurfette's Cousin

Do I look like a Smurf?

I figured it would be a good day to wear my sweater dress, but then I got tripped up with what kind of stockings or tights I should wear. The monochromatic look was the intention, but the tights are a bit more royal blue as opposed to navy like the dress. Let's just pretend I wanted to look like a blueberry.

This was the first time that I've tried the whole open shoe with tights thing. I think I kind of like it although I still don't know how I can master such a look when it gets cold. Something tells me it won't happen often, especially considering that my UGG boots are just so much warmer.

Do you sacrifice comfort for fashion (especially when it comes to shoes)?

OOTD- A Touch of Leopard Never Hurts

I felt like it was time for my green blazer to make another appearance. I seriously heart this blazer and want to wear it often. Don't you just love those kind of clothing finds?

I remember spying this particular dress in a magazine thinking how utterly feminine and cute it was and when I found it in the store, I instantly headed for the register to make it my own. Unfortunately, I've only worn it once before and it sits all lonely in my closet. And then my magical green blazer saved the day by adding some depth that I think keeps this dress from going to the Sunday church outfit territory. And then a little bit of leopard never hurts either.

OOTD- Lucky Color Green

Baby toes!!!!

Did you have a great weekend? I have to say I did and this green was my lucky color because I became an aunt for the first time. This is one big title that I'm excited to take on. How can I not when it involves miniature toes and hands?

The weather was perfectly mild on Friday so I decided that now would be the one good day that wearing a blazer wouldn't cause me to melt in a puddle of perspiration outside. I was feeling color too, so I decided to pair it with sunshiney yellow shoes. I've probably only worn these shoes once before since purchasing last year. I love the idea of them, but find that such a statement shoe is hard to work with.  Do I tone down the intensity and if not, what's the best outfit to display such brightness? This is interesting considering I own a pair of yellow wedges. I think a whole shoe in the color versus a strappy sandal is really different.

What kind of outfit would you create to pair with these shoes (or any super bright shoe)?

OOTD- Green with Envy

My day started super early yesterday for a conference. A day full of sitting and listening required me to come up with something professional, but most importantly comfortable. With all of the talk over the internet about Zara's new collection and their intense love of color blocking, I knew a trip would have to be in order for me. I got my chance last week and I was so incredibly happy to load up my arm with some many colorful items to try. And although my heart was a little set on a hot pink blazer (only one in the store and not my size, boo hoo), this green beauty made the cut. I think it's the perfect marriage of 9-5 business without being stuffy.
