Today's outfit was inspired by this image of Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars in Teen Vogue:
Despite the fact that I'm a woman about her thirties, I have to admit I'm still into teen things. I like to watch Vampire Diaries every Thursday, I still flip through Seventeen and Teen Vogue and I'm still shopping Forever 21 just like my teen self did. What can I say, they are a source of enjoyment and inspiration even though I'm am definitely not the target demographic.
While flipping through Teen Vogue a few months ago, I came across a picture of Lucy Hale wearing an outfit that immediately had my fashion wheels turning. I had a yellow top, a wine colored skirt and a statement necklace. I loved the outfit on her and loved how it came out with what was in my closet. Although my necklace from this past weekend would have been a better choice, adaptations had to be made for office appropriateness (boo!).
I can't be the only one!! What teen-related guilty pleasures do you still indulge in?
Outfit Details:
Skirt and pendant necklace- Forever 21
Tan trench- Jean Paul Gaultier for Target
You know why I like Teen Vogue? Because you can fit it in your purse! :o)
ReplyDeleteMy current teen-ish obsession is buying old paperbacks of The Babysitter's Club books. I loved them as a girl and finding them at thrift stores brings a smile to my face.
I don't think there's anything wrong with grown women shopping at F21 or reading teen mags. We have the ability to style pieces with the grace and confidence of life experience!
Lol, I like the small magazines too. Plus, although things are still expensive, it's a bit more affordable than Vogue.
ReplyDeleteI so loved th Baby-Sitters Club as a young girl, I remember trying to start my own.
You are funny, but sometimes, I'll grab Teen Vogue if I am traveling because like Linda said, it fits in my purse nicely.
ReplyDeleteI spent my morning watching One Tree Hill on Soap net, so don't feel bad! You're not the only one! And I think this outfit is adorable and not at all teeny-bopper! The bright colors are really gorgeous on you!
