OOTD- Just Like a Bandage

Excuse the goofy face. I don't know what I was doing in this pic, but the hair action is awesome, lol!

Thanks to winning a giveaway from Rosa of the Rosa Loves blog, I had a gift card just waiting to be used. So my honey and I headed into D.C. for a little brunch action at Co Co Sala yesterday. This is the place if you are a chocoholic! I have never had so much chocolate in one meal, but a frozen hot chocolate and chocolate covered bacon sure is one way to have a meal you won't forget.

I've always loved the look of those sexy Herve Leger bandage dresses, but tight and sexy don't usually define the look that I go for in my clothing choices. But not too long ago, I ventured into a Macy's dressing room with a BCBG knit skirt just to try on with something and ever since I've thought I should have one for myself. However, knowing I won't get a ton of wear out of it, this Forever 21 knit skirt fit the bill just fine. To keep myself straying too far from my comfort zone, I paired it with a blousy top. It had me feeling not so indecently exposed and let's just say the new skirt got a man-approved thumbs up. ;)

When was the last time you wore something out of the ordinary for you and what were you wearing?

  1. I like how you paired the breezy white blouse with the brown/orange color family. I'm a little self-conscious about body hugging skirts, too. But I bought one last year from F21; they're the best place to get stretchy skirts!

  2. I really like this outfit! The skirt is so cute and love how you paired it with that blouse.

Hmm...I'm sure it wasn't too long ago I wore something I usually wouldn't but of course I can't remember right now :)

  5. Thanks guys!!

@basiccravings- I had a little bit of Spanx going on, so I can understand why you would limit your wear of super tight skirts.

@Rosa-I'm so happy you sponsored that giveaway! I'll definitely head back for dinner because I've heard great things from multiple people about the mac n' cheese.

  6. This is such a great look! I love the pop of color from your handbag. I feel the same way a\bout tight dresses and skirts and would have styled it exactly the way you did. You look amazing!
