OOTD- Flight of the Crazy Bird

It's the return of the birds!! They just keep coming back. I had two reasons for wearing this dress: a.) I love it and would wear it at least once a week but I'm sure we'd all get sick of that and b.) in the span of a week I've seen two different bird dresses. I thought I would let you ladies get in on the tweet, tweet action too.

I have a lot of texture and pattern going on in this outfit, but it is a total win for me. I love all of these pieces, especially my new grandpa cardigan. Seriously, is there nothing better on a crisp day than a warm and cozy sweater? And if all of my birds and the pattern of my knit wasn't enough, I added polka dots on top of that. Is it all a bit too much? Quite possibly, but if it is, just let me be crazy pattern lady for the day.

OOTD- Night Bird

My photographer called in sick yesterday morning, so I had to work a plan b and shoot at night. Good thing the camera has a serious working flash!!

Do you guys remember my little birdie dress (see here)? Well, this top is its sister and she's been locked in the closet for awhile, like Rapunzel in the tower. I couldn't decide between one or the other, so both made a home with me. I absolutely love how feminine and flowy it is and I don't have to duck when they get close to me. The next time I take all of my feathered friends out, I hope to mix them with a little fur like one of my favorite designers wore recently:

Let's hope they get along!!

OOTD- Birds on a Wire

My birdies came out for an appearance again although in a slightly different form. I originally wore this dress as just that, a dress (oh, back in this post). Although, this is probably my favorite dress ever for its crazy fun print, I've only worn it once again since it first appeared on the blog. Let's not even talk about the blouse I have in the same print that hasn't seen the light of day yet although I heart it just as much. I thought the dress deserved some much needed airtime, plus I felt like dressing up for once this week and thus this outfit concoction was born. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out with a dress serving function as a blouse and lots of purple popping. Thinking outside the box can result in great creativity. Let's see if I can increase that juice to turn myself into a master wardrobe mixologist!!

Happy Friday to all!! Put some fun and relaxation on your weekend to-do list!!

OOTD- Gotta Get This Bird Off My Chest

It's an attack of the pretty birds!!!! I have to confess that I really don't like birds: Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds terrified me, they fly way to close to people's heads and let's not talk about the popping on you while flying. Despite my displeasure for the real things, I couldn't pass up this dress. It's equal parts ladylike in shape and whimsical in design; a sophisticated article of clothing that doesn't take itself to seriously. Perfection!

I picked up this ribbon over the weekend and had intentions of creating a cute ankle tie for some shoes, but that didn't quite work out because the picture in my head didn't match what the shoe actually looked like. How could I not know what my shoes look like? I've had them for over a year! It was a good thing I really looked at the print on this dress and saw dots on the little birds. That previous unnecessary ribbon purchased turned out to be the perfect outfit topper.
