To Jean or Not to Jean, That is the Question?

So it seems that the print du jour for jeans this year is shaping up to be flowers (like last year was all about the leopard which I am still kicking myself for not getting a single pair). I fell in love with Citizens of Humanity's white flowered jeans after seeing them on Net-a-Porter's website and then I saw Alicia of Cheetah is the New Black rocking them so well as she does with any pair of denim jeans and couldn't help but love them a little more. I made a visit to Anthropologie this weekend and what did I find waiting for me on the racks:

Hmm, to flower jean or not to flower jean, that is my dilemma. My honey gave me a look when I picked them up off the rack and then proceeded to laugh when he saw the price tag, so I don't think he's a big fan; but there is something about these jeans that like. Now whether I splurge on these or wait for the inevitable lower priced look-alike version sure to pop up at Forever 21 one of these days (I've already seen similar flower shorts) or even let this trend pass by without a purchase, I can't say what I will do yet. But I can't help but wonder:

What do you guys think of the flower denim trend? Likey or no likey? Did you rock a pair of leopard print jeans last year or do you stick to classic washes?

CoH denim jeans are available here in light and dark.

  1. Prints in general are in (when it comes to jeans). Topshop has a lot of pants and leggings with crazy prints like unicorns and peace signs lol. I happen to love the flower print craze as well. I don't want to spend too much on a pair so I might wait it out like you lol. I'll let you know if I come across a less expensive alternative to those you have pictured :)

  3. I am still not sure on the printed jean. I have seen a couple of bloggers rocking them out and they look fabulous. I just don't think I could pull them off. Then I would have a hard time spending that kind of money for a trend that will not be around too long...but then I could be wrong.

  4. I would pass on the flower jean as it doesn't flatter my body type. I think it's one of those trends that will last a season or two then completely disappear. I could be wrong, though. I think those jeans look great on you, but I would definitely wait for F21 to bring out their own version.
I didn't jump on the leopard denim bandwagon as the washes were too light. I did score a pair of camo denim from Zara on super sale. The cool thing about them is they're subtle and really look like a pair of dark green/black denim from afar.

  5. I do want a printed pant, but since I haven't hopped on the colored jean wagon, I'll probably stay away from the flower jean trend. It does seem like a fun trend, but I would buy the cheaper version.

  6. omg, you must get a pair... though, i do think you can wait on the F21 version... I always say it's best to go cheaper with super trendy items. These may be around a couple seasons, but you won't be wearing them forever..

oooh, but I do adore them. They really are super cute! (ode to the 90's, I might add!)

  8. I agree with ina, why not check out F21 or H&M and even Zara and see if they have a less expensive version. I think they are fun though.

  9. OMG, they look awesome and slimming on you! But honestly, I would die before I would dare to wear them in public. Why is it so? I would not think twice, if it was a skirt...

  10. Lol, I'm sure you could rock them but I can understand your hesitation. I'm certain that the next iteration will be a skirt because I already saw these same jeans in a shorts version last week.

  11. I'm still on the fence, especially when I know there are other more affordable versions on the way. I did see a flowered pair at ASOS, but didn't care for the colors in it.

  13. Oh, I hate spending big bucks on trendy items too especially if I'm not sure how much wear I'd get out of it. I was going to use my Anthro Bday discount on these but since I'm not 100% sure on them, I'll hold off.

  14. I'm glad you are loving your red jeans. I didn't spend much on mine, but that's a purchase I'm glad I made.
Oh, I'm just waiting for F21 to churn out a similar pair because I know one is on the way. They never fail!

  15. Unicorns!! I definitely have to check those out. I'm really interested in the whole printed pants thing lately, but the only thing I've gotten so far are polka dots.

  17. I love fashion to the core, but Not a big fan of the flower jeans. They really are not for everyone. And since it's a trend I wouldn't spend too much on them. I save the big bucks for the classics.

  18. I've had my eye on this pair for a few weeks now. Just bought some floral jeans from F21 this week. They have a white background with green, pink, and blue flowers. I adore them! I'm all for this trend!
