The Perfect Topper

Cooler temps usually means time for layers and bundling up. Outfits are hidden behind coats and jackets, but that doesn't have to mean you need to be covered and boring. One great way to add sparkle to your outerwear is with a fabulous scarf, or my favorite, a hat. Some people are hat people (raises hand over here) and some people (like my best friend) wouldn't put one on even if it was five below freezing your butt off cold. Don't be afraid of give them a try because there are so many fabulous styles to choose from out there.

Let's take a look:

Outfit of the Day- Leaving on a Jet Plane

And it's back to the real world!! I've spent the last few days sailing the high seas on a cruise to the Bahamas. I've had my fill of food, activities and sunshine. I'll miss that hammock on the beach, but I couldn't stay there forever. Sigh...

Today's outfit is actually what I wore heading down on the plane. Nothing creates more of a headache than trying to figure out what to wear on an airplane. You want to be comfortable on the cold plane and off at whatever hot destination. I figured my best bet was to keep it simple, bring my jacket, and definitely wear flats with some footies because if the floors in the airport are anything like the Red Roof Inn I stayed in overnight, then you do not want your bare feet to touch them at all. Valuable lesson learned, don't ever forget your socks for the hotel!!!

Outfit Details:
Black lace tank- Hanky Panky
Gray tank- James Perse
Ripped jeans- I "Heart" Ronson (available here from JCPenney)
Black quilted flats- Scoop NYC
Hat- Eugenia Kim for Target (something similar available here)

Outfit of the Day- Target Blues

I was all set to wear my new sunglasses when I realized that maybe it was time to get my eyebrows done and that it wasn't going to happen when there was rain pouring outside (big frowny face on that). So I had to headed off to my Oprah-mandated activity (bra fitting; I am not a member of the church of Oprah, but that is something every woman should do) with an umbrella and added something extra with one of my favorite hats.
I was able to enjoy a bit of shopping time at Anthropologie (I wanted to try on everything in the store) and popped into J Crew where I was thoroughly disappointed. It was a sea of dark colors and tees. I swear there was not a graphic print or bright color to be found (except for one pair of shorts). What's up with that?

Outfit Details:
Blue v-neck tee- Target
Crop denim leggings- Lauren Conrad for Kohl's
Tan boat shoes- Target
Hat- Eugenia Kim for Target
Blue studded bracelet- Hollywood Intuition for Target
Digital watch- Forever 21
Gold necklace- Kitson L.A. outlet
Bow ring- Forever 21
P.S. The pictures were taken in the evening when the rain disappeared, of course.
